What are NC Press Brake and CNC Press Brake?

There is a lot of confusion and many differences between the CNC Press Brake and the NC Press Brake. Today, we’ll review important information on differentiating a CNC press brake from an NC press brake.

CNC Press Brake

NC Press Brake

1. Different structural principles:

The two models have different design concepts. Various structures are being created to ensure synchronization on both sides of the curved slider. The NC press brake machines forces the synchronization mechanism to move the oil cylinders on both sides up and down by connecting the left and proper pendulum rods into a twisted shaft. Thus the parallelism of the slider cannot be automatically checked and adjusted; the torsion axis synchronous press brake is a mechanical forced synchronization technique.

The CNC press brake machinewill install an optical (magnetic) scale on the wall plate and the slider. The magnetic (optical) ruler’s feedback data allows the numerical control system to examine the synchronization status on both sides of the slider at any time. The numerical control system will correct errors through the proportional electro-hydraulic servo valve to synchronize the strokes on both sides of the slider. The CNC system, hydraulic control valve group, and magnetic ruler constitute the CNC press brake’s feedback closed-loop control.

2. Precision:

The NC machine has slider’s parallelism that determines the workpiece’s angle. The system that keeps the slides in sync is the NC press brake. The machine cannot modify itself automatically without real-time error feedback. Additionally, its dynamic load capacity is low. (If the long-term excessive load results in the torsion shaft deforming, the CNC press brake forces the synchronous mechanism to move the oil cylinders on both sides up and down.)

The magnetic scale provides real-time error feedback, and the CNC press brake system regulates the sliders’ synchronization via a proportional electro-hydraulic valve group. The device uses magnetic scale feedback to keep the sliders in synchronization in case of an error.

3. Speed:

The NC press brake machine’s operating speed depends on the slider’s speed, the back gauge’s speed, and the bending step’s speed.

The CNC press brake’s cylinder is 13:1 or 15:1, which is speedy, as opposed to the conventional press brake’s cylinder, which is 6:1 or 8:1. As a result, the CNC press brake has much faster descent and return speeds than the CNC press brake.

4. Operator:

The NC press brake cannot do trial bending while processing in compliance with drawings because it lacks a control system and V-axis compensation. Instead, it must rely on the expertise of old workers. Continue attempting if it fails to fulfill the requirements. , which involves a lot of work.

Professional numerical control system control, V-axis correction, ease of operation, and minimal experience requirements are all used by CNC press brakes. There is a function for simulating bending; all that is required is to change the input step size of the drawing to bend without the need to stake out directly.

5. Strength:

The NC press brake won’t bend under uneven weights because of how it was built. The torsion shaft will get warped if it is bent under an unbalanced load for an extended period.

Such issues do not exist with CNC press brakes. The left and right sides of the Y1 and Y2 axes can be eccentrically folded and move independently.
